Abstract

The Bhagavad Gita is the most popular and sacred scripture of Hinduism.  It is not only a religious book of the Hindu religion but also a common property for all the human beings of the world where we can find solutions to every problem of our lives.  Ethics has great importance in every step of our life. Ethics means a code of conduct.  Ethics make us responsible or make us aware of our actions. The central theme of the Bhagavad Gita is ethics.  In the Bhagavad Gita ethics is reflected in concepts like svabhava, svadharma and niskama karma. In this paper, the author will discuss the Niskama karma which means desireless action or having no desire for the fruit of action. The Bhagavad Gita, which is a part of the Mahabharata, is purely a spiritual document that encompasses everything connected with human beings and life on earth and it helps humanity to attain the goal of self-realization and enlightenment.
