Digital technologies have brought about a transformation in the creation, utilization, and cross-platform sharing of educational media. Given how mobile and wireless technologies are changing and defining new literacy in teaching and learning, new media and their integration could be incorporated into the educational programs. As a result of its participatory nature, the internet has really produced several inventions and services. Wireless networks and ubiquitous, low-cost microprocessors have made it possible for us to access and manage information virtually anywhere, at any time. As a result, mobile devices have become widely used. Education providers, sociologists, neuroscientists, and theorists from a variety of disciplines believe that learning today involves entirely new tools, which include a wide range of media forms like images, video and audio clips, hypertext, hypermedia, software applications, and web pages. The White man’s burden that the ‘civilised’ nations have taken upon themselves is now manifested towards the whole world in the name of Globalisation. The growth of TNCs has accelerated the process of Imperialism masked as Globalisation, which has further left the employees to be alienated. The project of neo-liberalisation has been used as an umbrella term to conceal the atrocities that the West has inflicted upon the Third-World countries. The unattainable picture that it has rendered to the developing nations, disguised as modernisation, is nothing but the fake promises of the American Dream.
Ms. Tulika Sharma Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal of Society and Education 2025-06-27 2025-06-27 3 1 7 12 Developing an Academic Support Framework for College Students Battling Cancer: Challenges and Strategies for Success https://www.apricusjournals.com/index.php/ijose/article/view/204
College students with cancer face unique challenges that significantly impact their academic journey, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. Balancing rigorous coursework with the physical, emotional, and financial burdens of cancer treatment often results in disrupted education, isolation, and diminished academic performance. This paper explores the critical need for comprehensive academic support systems tailored to the needs of college students battling cancer.

The study identifies key barriers, including frequent absenteeism due to medical appointments, cognitive impairments stemming from treatments such as chemotherapy, and the stigma associated with their condition. It highlights the importance of integrating academic flexibility, personalized learning plans, and accessible resources to mitigate these challenges. Additionally, it emphasizes the role of empathetic faculty training, peer support networks, and mental health services in fostering a supportive academic environment.

Through a mixed-methods approach, this research gathers insights from case studies, interviews, and surveys with cancer-affected students, educators, and healthcare providers. The findings reveal the effectiveness of specific interventions such as hybrid learning models, academic counseling, and adaptive technology in improving educational outcomes for this demographic.

The paper concludes by recommending the establishment of dedicated support frameworks within higher education institutions, including cancer resource centers, cross-disciplinary collaboration between medical and academic professionals, and policy advocacy for enhanced disability accommodations. By addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by college students with cancer, these measures aim to promote resilience, inclusivity, and academic achievement, ultimately empowering these students to pursue their educational and personal goals despite their diagnosis.
Saswati Sengupta Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal of Society and Education 2025-05-06 2025-05-06 3 1 1 6 Echoes of Terror: The Silent Sufferings of Victims of Terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir https://www.apricusjournals.com/index.php/ijose/article/view/252
Terrorism is a global menace that has perturbed the entire world. The essay also urges us to delve how everyday interactions and activities can develop a new kind of relation which is not confined just to the genealogical understanding of the kinship relation. Here we also try to look at the different variety of pets and how they act as kin members of the family in different society. The following essay also draws few examples from films and popular culture, to show different ways in which humans and non-humans share an idea of relatedness in the broader understanding of kinship relation.
Anagha Ratheesh Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal of Society and Education 2025-05-06 2025-05-06 3 1 13 17
